A Psalm of David.

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!² Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:³ Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,⁴ Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,⁵ Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

⁶ The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.⁷ He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.⁸ The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.⁹ He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.¹⁰ He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

¹¹ For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;¹² As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.¹³ As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.¹⁴ For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.

¹⁵ As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.¹⁶ For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.^[a]
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,¹⁸ To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.

¹⁹ The Lord has established His throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.

²⁰ Bless the Lord, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.²¹ Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.²² Bless the Lord, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.

3 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. 

² I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

³ You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 

⁴ For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?

⁵ What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 

⁶ I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 

⁷ So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

¹⁵ If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

¹⁶ Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 

¹⁷ If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

¹⁸ Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 

¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 

²⁰ and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”

²¹ So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, 

²² whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 

²³ and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

How The Social Media Affects You And Your Relationships.

The purpose of having telephones and tablets is for communication. With the help of the social media, these gadgets have become powerful tools for communication and research. However, many people have become addicted to it that their lives and relationships are suffering as a result of it. Meaningful conversations no longer take place in homes, offices and relationships because people are always engrossed in one thing or the other on their phones and tablets.

Some people have been killed and others have had serious accidents because they were using their phones while driving, walking, cooking, sleeping and so on. Parents and children are not exempted because every one is busy with their phones. It is very painful because family values are no longer thought adequately because every body is busy with their phones. Instead families and children are learning values via the internet. The social media is teaching us and and our children family values that are a far cry from what our parents passed on to us. They are learning things that are destroying them and parents are not aware because they too are busy with it and are also being lured away from their responsibilities by it.

One of the reasons why the family system has been destroyed today is the social media because people spend quality time with their phones than with their spouses, families and friends. If you fail in your responsibilities as a leader, as parents and husbands and wives, “the new guy” in town called the social media will do it for you. Have you thought of the high rate of divorce, rape (child and adult), kidnapping, brain drain and so on? One good reason for all of this is the social media which ought to be a good tool but has been exchanged for quality time, parenting and so on.  The brain behind this is the devil. He knows if the family system is intact, homes will be solid and the nations will be better for it. So, he has decided to attack families, relationships, marriages, homes, colleagues and so on with it. He has been introducing so many things to destroy generations and people from age to age. In our time, he knows the impact the social media can have on our generation, so he has been using it effectively.

Ephesians 2:1-2 says, “ 1. As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

^{2 I}n which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient”.

The Bible calls him the prince of the power of the air and he has lived up to expectation. He uses the air waves to his advantage very well and he is not ready to stop. Instead he will improve his skills, expand his reach and methods. Every one (including me) has fallen prey to his schemes one way or the other through the social media. He brings new developments, applications, devices and even games through people that make us spend more time on the social media daily than with our families, friends and loved ones. Relationships are no longer meaningful and deep because of the social media. Instead relationships have become superficial because we don’t have time for ourselves anymore, hence we are losing meaningful relationships. The above pictures say it all. As people would say, pictures speak and the above pictures were not photo shopped. They are real and they express what goes on in all races, nations and relationships. If we want to save our homes, relationships and ourselves, we need to control, manage, monitor and regulate the use of phones. It will help us individually and save many people who have become addicts to it and heading towards destruction. Wilson Ileogben

Giving Thanks.

I woke up this morning and i was so discouraged and downcast. Thoughts have been going through my mind lately but i saw a picture that changed my mind.

It remains me of what the bible says in the following scriptures:

Colossians 3:17 NCV says, “17 Everything you do or say should be done to obey Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus”.

Psalm 91:1 , “I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds”.

Psalm 35:18, “I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you”.

Psalm 106:1, “Praise the Lord.Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever”.

Daniel 6:10, “10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before”.

1 Corinthians 15;57, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”.

Ephesians 5:20, “20 Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

Colossians 1:12, ” And you will joyfully give thanks to the Father who has made you able to have a share in all that he has prepared for his people in the kingdom of light”.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 TLB, “No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

In every thing, situation, position and place we find ourselves, we should give God Thanks. Don't give up, instead give thanks to God despite the challenges you are faced with because there is always a reason in your life to give God Thanks.Wilson Ileogben

Anger Is Not Good On You.

Anger is dangerous because it hurts you more than what that person did to you. If you are angry at something or someone because of what they did to you, I would like you to read the following:

Proverbs 27:3 ASV says, “A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool’s vexation is heavier than they both”.

There are millions of thoughts and things people think and do when they are angry. It is not really good on you because you may say or do things that you will regret for the rest of your lives. it does not have regard for any one. when it takes over any one, the person can become a monster. The most beautiful girl or person can become a dragon when anger consumes them. There is a monster on the inside of everyone that can only be released by anger. It brings out the ugly side of us that no wants to see. The monster has made many lose their relationships, commit suicide, commit murder, destroy things, walk out on good business proposals, jobs and so on. The fire that ignites anger could come from friends, spouse, colleagues, strangers, children, parents, neighbours and so on. One of the best ways to prevent and stop the monster called anger from coming out is by ignoring what people do and say to infuriate you.

Proverbs 12;16 (NIV) says,The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.

Ignoring the insults of people is one good way of preventing the monster from coming out. It prevents us from unleashing the dragon on the inside of us and it makes you uphold your dignity, respect and honour. Also, it will prevent you from doing things that could destroy you, others and things. It is not easy to ignore insults and provocations but it is possible. We all need wisdom because it takes it to ignore people who are very annoying.

Pro 29:11 says NCV, “11 Foolish people lose their tempers, but wise people control theirs”.

The above scripture says that it takes wisdom to control anger and temper. Wisdom is needed for every thing in life and it can help you overcome the temptations that come from people who push you to the wall. As long as you are on earth, people will definitely push you to the wall but it will take wisdom not to react when you pushed to the wall. It makes you overlook, ignore and overcome insults and provocations. Anger could be dangerous if it is negative and it does not look good on anyone because it destroys more than it builds. It takes anger fewer seconds or no time to destroy what one has used his time, efforts, energy and resources to build.

This world is a beautiful place with beautiful people from different races and background. However, beautiful people do crazy stuffs and stupid things. They can make you go nuts and commit yourself in the negative ways. However, we must develop hard and thick skins if we want to live with people on earth peacefully. Anger is not the answer to what that person did to you but ignoring it through wisdom is the answer. If we all react based on our feelings to what people do, no body will be alive on earth because the world will be in a state of anarchy. My background and upbringing are different from yours and they influence my thoughts, the way i see and do things. So, if i do and say things that annoy you, don’t be angry with me. If i also don’t do things the way you expect people to do things, please do not blame me. The only thin you can do is to help me understand you and say, see and do things that you expect of me. You need to understand that people think and do things differently based on their experiences, back ground, environment and personality. This is another way to overcome being annoyed and reacting to people. If you will understand me, the things i do and say will not bring out that monster in you.  Nobody is and will ever be like you and vice versa. Every one is unique in their own ways and they also have different personalities, understanding and maturity level. Being angry with someone who does not think like you shows that you are not mature enough because in mind of the person, he has done his based based on his understanding and he does not know why you are angry with him. Before him you are just a sadist and a pettish person. This shows that we need to understand people for who they are and what they stand for. So, understanding and ignoring people who piss us off can spare the rantings, embarrassment and blushes. Wilson Ileogben
