AM I REALLY HANDSOME / BEAUTIFUL?

JUST THINKING:

At times, situations in our lives make us loose sight of who we are. We tend to forget how we look like, our worth, our self esteem and our confidence when we are being crushed by challenges of life, rejections, afflictions, trials, persecutions, disappointments, failures, lack and so on. All of those things lead to depression and suicidal tendencies.
Psalm 139:14 says, "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well."
If you don't really know who you are, you will allow situations to define and tell you who you are not.
James 1: 23 - 24 NIV says, "Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like."
The word of God is that mirror that tells and shows you who you are and what you look like. It tells you that you were created in the image and likeness of God.
Uhmmm, wait a minute. Did you mean that you were actually made and created in the God's image and likeness? So, will I be wrong to say that you look like God and that you have the attributes, nature, qualities and characteristics of God. If that is true, then why do you loose sight of who you really are and look like from time to time? Also, what makes you forget how beautiful and handsome you are?  Lastly, what will make you forget who you are after reading or receiving the word of God?
The answers to those questions could be the problems of life, temptations for the word sake, trials, troubles, bitter experiences and so on. Those things make many of us forget God and what he has told us about ourselves. In such times, we focus on the situations so much that we forget that 2 Corinthians 4:17 says:
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."
Furthermore, the troubles of life engulf and cloud our minds that we run to people to affirm what and who we are, what we knew about ourselves, our beauty and our looks. We quickly forget who we are, what we have and that we have been blessed by God in the face of troubles.
But the bible says that, "wonderful are HIS works". And you know that you are one of HIS works. So, it means that you are a wonder. To be a wonder means to be a miracle, a person who causes astonishment and admiration.
The Bible also calls our troubles "light and momentary". So, do not allow those light momentary problems or troubles define you because you are the handiwork of God and a wonder which make you a beauty. Your beauty was given to you by God. Please, do not allow situations make you doubt, feel worthless, useless and feel like a nonentity .
