SAFETY IS OF GOD.

JUST THINKING
Companies are more concerned about safety more than ever before. They go the extra mile to train their staffs and heed to safety measures in their working environment. Individuals are also more conscious of it in their environment, offices and so on. The governments of each country try as much as possible to provide security for the safety and protection of its citizens. They also educate, provide information on and give safety tips to their citizens. We can't do without being safety conscious since the rate of armed robbery, cars snatching; petty robbing and pick pocketing are on the increase. One has to be observant in every environment he finds himself. Safety is key if you want to live a peaceful life.
What is safety? Safety is the state of being “safe” (from French sauf), the condition of being protected against physical, social, spiritual, financial, political, emotional, occupational, psychological, educational or other types or consequences of failure, damage, error, accidents, harm or any other event which could be considered non-desirable. Safety can also be defined to be the control of recognized hazards to achieve an acceptable level of risk. This can take the form of being protected from the event or from exposure to something that causes health or economical losses. It can include protection of people or of possessions. “Safety means keeping yourself and others free from harm or danger. It means taking care not to fall or bump or run into things. It also means to avoid accidents by being careful with what you are doing.
Recently, Fire service Marshals came to drill all the staffs of the various companies in the tower where my company is located. They deliberately triggered off the alarm but most of the people came out sluggishly. When the spokesman of the started addressing us, he was disappointed at our attitude towards safety. He said that we should not take any fire alarm for granted because we may not know and recognize when a genuine alarm for a fire outbreak would come on. He also said that he saw many of us standing under the building discussing when we came out, instead of moving to the muster point. If the building collapses, people under the building will be crushed. So, staying under the building when there is an outbreak of fire or a fire drill is not the best according to him. This is a good example of safety measures put in place by the management of companies to safeguard people and properties.
However, all the measures people, companies and nations put in place to safeguard lives and properties are good but they are still limited. There is a perfect measure that we all need to put in place which can lead to total protections of our lives and properties. It is called “God’s Safety measure. God’s Safety measure is a combination of divine protection and righteous restrictions.  In this definition, divine protection and righteous restrictions make the Safety from God the best kind of safety everyone should seek and not be ignorant of. Divine Protection is God’s protection over your life, properties and so on. This is based on God’s sovereignty and your willingness to obey God. He can’t protect you when you are not with and know him.
Proverbs 21: 31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safetyf is of the LORD.
Psalm 127:1 says, “ Unless  the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain”.
Psalm 91:1 & 2 says, Whoever  dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress my God, in whom I trust.”
While righteous restrictions are those promptings, leadings, inner witness, burdens, instructions and so on that God uses to deliver and protect us. There are times the spirit of God could prompt you not to board a bus, not to sit on a chair and not to go to a place. Also, he could witness in your heart not to leave your house or visit people and also not to eat a certain food and drink a certain wine. In all of the restrictions he gives us, we all have our role to play. If he tells you not to eat and you eat a certain food, then anything that happens to you is of your own doing. Righteous restrictions could prevent you from getting into a bad business and job. It could also stop you from getting into a marriage that could destroy you and your future. These restrictions can come from the Holy Spirit and people (God speaking to you through them).
1 Kings 13; 8-10 says, “But the man of God answered the king, “Even if you were to give me half your possessions, I would not go with you, nor would I eat bread or drink water here.
For I was commanded by the word of the Lord: ‘You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you came.’” 10 So he took another road and did not return by the way he had come to Bethel.2 Kings 6: 8 & 9 says, “Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.” The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.” 10 So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places”.
If we want to survive on earth, we must seek God’s safety and give in to his warnings daily apart from the safety measures you have put in place. His safety is divine and it does not fade with time. So, you need to come to him today and know his ways.
