The Oxford dictionaries defined a pimp as a man who controls prostitutes and arranges clients for them, taking a percentage of their earnings in return. A pimp is also a man who beats up women and owns over a thousand sex slaves. He is one who brokers the sexual favors of women for profits. This is what most people know the word PIMP as. However, the word has other meanings. It is so crazy that we know the bad meanings and use them more than the positive meanings of a word.
The word PIMP is also defined in the Oxford dictionaries and other dictionaries as to add things to something to make it look or sound better, especially by making it more individual. It also means to Make (something) more showy or impressive, to make better and fix up, attractive, gorgeous and to garnish and embellish a thing. For example, I would like you to pimp my ride, job, house, clothes phone, hair and so on means to make my car or phone better. So, if some says I need you to pimp my house, he is saying that you should make his house more impressive and attractive.
The MTV show “PIMP MY RIDE” presented by Xzibit and his team, the staff of the shop West Coast Customes and Galpiin Auto Sports specialize in tuning old dilapidated cars owned by young fans of MTV to give them aesthetic bling bling and new look. The mechanics of the cars may be revised without being remade. The vehicles take on a new look and appearance after they have worked on it and added accessories to them. This also reminds me of the show Home Make Over. They all do the same thing of making either a car, house, person more beautiful, better and impressive.
If we pimp our cars, home and clothes, we need to pimp our lives as well. Many make use of make ups, cosmetics, surgeries and so on to embellish their faces and bodies so that they can look more beautiful on the outside. But those things only beautify their physical appearance but not their lives. There are many people who have had surgical procedures to enhance their bodies but their lives are messed up with drugs, divorce, sin, issues of lives, challenges and so on. Looking good outwardly is good but if your life is great and intact, that is the best. However, many try as much as possible to look for the solutions to their life problems by indulging in the occult, rituals, sacrifices, going to the wrong places and doing the wrong things. But this only gets them frustrated and devastated at the end of the day.
The song by SINACH, “you make my life so beautiful” is what I am really talking about. Nothing can beautify and enhance your life than Jesus would do. Money, fame, success, friends, families and so on cannot pimp your life the way Jesus would. If your life has been battered and messed up by issues of life, sin drugs, sex, pornography, and so on, the only way to make your life beautiful again is by you accepting Jesus and letting him come into your life to pimp it.

John 8:1-11 says: “But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do you say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

The above story talks about a woman whose life was ravaged by adultery and the people wanted to stone her alone to death without the man who committed adultery with her. Leviticus 20:10 says “If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death”. The people in question wanted to put Jesus to the test but he did not fall to it. She was accused, insulted and almost stoned but the people could not because Jesus said to them if any is without sin, he should be the first to stone her. These same people had their own issues but were pointing fingers at someone else sins, problems and issues. They did not realize that the other fingers were pointing at them.

However, Jesus didn’t condemn her the way the people did. Instead, he said she should go and sin no more. One good lesson I learnt here is that people will condemn, castigate, abuse, insult, rain curses on you and reject you when you mess up. But Jesus will not because that is why he came for you. The men you run to for help cannot help you instead them will expose and make jest of you. They are not and will never be like Jesus. He loves you in spite of you and wants you to stop taking. He wants you to stop sinning, taking drugs, prostituting yourself, stealing and so on. Remember, that men will always be men and they will condemn you when you sin, err or make mistakes but Jesus will show you love. Though he does not want you to sin and to keep on sinning, he still loves you.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says,” 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”.
Isaiah 1:18 says,” “Come now, and let us reason together, Says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool”.
Jesus can also help you out of the mess you have found yourself in life. Just let go and let him because the battles in life belong to him. Don’t go on trying to fight your battles yourself because you will just end up going in circles. Matthew 11:28 says, “ Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. You are more than a conqueror and you can overcome no the pain and challenges. He can bring you out and rescue you from habits and situations no matter how deep and how far you have gone in them. He is also the only one who can PIMP your life and you will become more beautiful outwardly and inwardly. WILSON ILEOGBEN
