A restaurant owner got a welcome surprise this week when a letter containing some money unknowingly owed to him arrived in the post.
In the letter, the writer explains that, 13 years ago, they had been in a difficult financial situation. So they wrote a cheque at the pizza place, aware that it would bounce:
‘Back in 2002 I bounced a cheque at your pizza shop.I was going through a very difficult time financially and was at the end of my rope.
‘I had no money and a hungry child at home.’
It's been weighing on their mind ever since.

Now, the customer is back on their feet and a successful business owner so they felt it was time to repay their debt. Enclosed with the letter was $54.39 (€47) - the estimated price of the pizza at $20 (€17) plus added interest.
The restaurant owner posted the letter to Reddit, saying he was speechless. The letter arrived anonymously but he wants the person to know that there are no hard feelings - on the suggestion of other Redditors, he's going to hang a sign on the window saying 'Forgiven' in the hopes that the letter writer will see it.
