Trusting God.

Trust is a word that most people on earth talk about daily. From old people to young people, the word "trust" has many meanings. Trust is needed in marriages, offices, teams, friendship and so on. A few people have trust deficit while some cannot be trusted in some things. I know that no man is perfect but we all need to work in this area of our lives. You could be good in one area but also have deficits in other areas. There are just a few people in life that can be trusted in all things. We all should work on ourselves so that we can increase the number of those few trusted people.

In the area of trust, many of us put our trust, hope and confidence in men. Many people have been disappointed because they trusted in a fellow human being. When you put your trust in man, he can fail you. The bible says that the help of man is worthless (Psalm 108:12 and psalm 90:11 "Psalm 108:12 says, Give us aid against the enemy,
for human help is worthless). So, why do you put your trust in men? So many people have been disappointed by friends, spouses, fiances, family members, colleagues, bosses, companies, pastors and so on because they put their trust in people. Some of them have not come out from the disappointment. They have even vowed that they will no longer trust any one as long as they live. The problem is that they put their trust in the wrong places and people. They have forgotten that that person is just a man. You can't put your in man because man is limited. He can't see tomorrow and he can't give you happiness.
If a man promises to give you cash or some thing else the following day, pray for him to have the grace to do it because he may die over night and things could happen that may make him not to do that thing he has promised you. Things could happen that can make him change his mind. So,instead of trusting man, put you trust in God.

Jeremiah 17:7-9 says, " “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,whose trust is the Lord. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” (ESV).

 The above scripture says that you are blessed when you put your trust in God and not man. Your life will not cease to bear  fruit both in season and out of season if your trust is in God. When men are complaining because of the heat (challenges, issues of life, economy instability, wars, etc), your leaves ( life, marriage, carrier, family,etc) will be green( fruitful, productive, prolific) and when there is drought( famine, lack, poverty, failure, starvation), you will not be anxious( scared, affected, confused).

We can trust God in every thing in life like trusting him for your tuition and that of your children. You can also trust him for a future partner, job, fruit of the womb, mortgage, house rent, breakfast, lunch , dinner and so on. He is not a man because he is not limited by time and space. God is self sufficient.

 Psalm 59:10- 13 says," 10 For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.12 “If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine.13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats? (ESV).  Also Haggai 2:8 says, " 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. (ESV)".

It is better to trust God than trusting people. God cannot lie but men do. He is the source of life but man cannot create and make any living thing. The bible says that God is not a man that he should lie neither is he the son of man that he should repent, if he says a thing, he will do it and if he promises any thing, he will make it good. Trusting God may not be easy to us but it is the best thing to do. When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, did you think it was easy for Abraham to obey God? It was not easy but he did believe and trust God. His ways are not our ways. Also, his timing is not the same as ours. We need to be patient with HIM, when we trust him concerning any thing. If he says a thing, it will be done.As long as the thing you are trusting God for is not evil and it is in line with his will, God will make it good. Trusting God is what every one should do.

 Isaiah 26:4 says " Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. (ESV)".
Also, Pro 3:5&6 says, " 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (ESV).
The scriptures above tell us why we should trust God. He is our help in times of troubles and he will never fail you if you trust him and follow his leadings. Wilson Ileogben
