"Not Generational Curses But Generational Blessings"

There is a curse upon me. I am from a cursed family. This same thing happened to my grand father, uncles, my father, cousins and now me. It is a generational curse. I don't really know what to do. We have to break this thing by going for deliverance. I am tired."
The above statements have been made by many people in many ways because they think they are cursed as a result of the things that have been reoccurring in their families. Many people are really suffering because of this ignorance. Yes, there must have been a curse but Christ has destroyed every curse that was supposed to be upon us. If there is a trend in your family line, you can break free from it today. Every written code,  pronouncement and things against you was blotted out because of Jesus.
There are many people who still believe in generational curses and they think that they can't be delivered from it because it is a compulsory thing every one has to go through in their family. They have seen it happen over and over again in their lineage and they have made up their minds that they will surely go through it as well. They even quote the bible when talking about it. Both Christians and non Christians talk about it. The scriptures they quote are:
Exodus 20: 5 & 6. "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (KJV)". ( Also read Deut 5:9 & 10)

The above scriptures talk about God visiting the sins of the fathers  on the children to their fourth generation. At that time, people suffered for what they didn't know any thing about. The consequences of the sins committed by their parents was  meted out to them. This was the state and fate of many. If i was the one, i would not be happy about it. If you were the one, how would you feel? Just imagine that some one is suffering from a sin committed by his great, great grand father and he cant do any thing about it. I think it was not fair on them.

This is the state of many today. They are suffering but can't  do any thing about it. The reason why they are suffering is because of IGNORANCE. The bible says that God's people suffer because of lack of knowledge or ignorance. To come out of whatever suffering, you need to know what God says about it and hold unto his word.

2 Chronicles 25:4 Says, "  But he did not put their children to death, according to what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses, where the Lord commanded, “Fathers shall not die because of their children, nor children die because of their fathers, but each one shall die for his own sin.”

Eze 18: 4 & 20 says, " 4 Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins shall die. 20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself (ESV).
The above scriptures talk about any one who sins is the one who will suffer the consequences and not someone else. Also, the same God who spoke that he would carry out the sins of the fathers unto many generations later said that the one who sinned is the one that would die and not someone else . This is great news because God has set us free by his word.  Hallelujah.
Also,  Deut 21:22 says, " 22 And if a man has committed a crime punishable by death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, 23 his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance. (ESV).

Christ was hanged on the cross(tree) for our sakes and all  curses meant for us came upon him on the cross (Read Gal 3:13). The bible also says that we have been cut off from our physical ancestry and have been grafted into Christ. Since we have been grafted into Christ, every curse upon our old lineage does not have control over our lives any more. We have been set free from all curses, written code and evil planned against us.
Col 3: 14 & 15 says, " Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (KJV)".
Every curse, plan, and word spoke over your life was nailed to the cross before you were born. The only way you can be free is by accepting Jesus Christ ( The Word). When you accept him as your personal saviour and lord, you will be grafted into him and you will start drinking, living on and enjoying from the richness of Jesus ( the root). He has accepted  you and set you free from every curse. Now that you have been accepted by him, you will start drinking from him.  Also, all the curses of the past will be destroyed by his anointing and you will start enjoying from the blessings (promises) God made to Abraham.
Gal 3:29 says, " And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (KJV)".
So, instead of you thinking about generational curses, think about the generational blessings you have come into as a result of accepting Jesus into your life. God made promises to Abraham  and his descendants and  these promises have become yours as a result of you accepting Jesus.
You  have been set from and also brought into great blessings. So rejoice because you are not cursed but blessed. Wilson Ileogben
