Scriprures Of The Day: " Daniel 6:1-28 ".

Daniel in the Den of Lions

1[a]It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,
with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss.
Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.”
So these administrators and satraps went as a group to the king and said: “May King Darius live forever! The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days, except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions’ den.
Now, Your Majesty, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.”
So King Darius put the decree in writing.
10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help.
12 So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree: “Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human being except to you, Your Majesty, would be thrown into the lions’ den?”
The king answered, “The decree stands—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.”
13 Then they said to the king, “Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, Your Majesty, or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day.”
14 When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him.
15 Then the men went as a group to King Darius and said to him, “Remember, Your Majesty, that according to the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or edict that the king issues can be changed.”
16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”
17 A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel’s situation might not be changed.
18 Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep.
19 At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den.
20 When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”
21 Daniel answered, “May the king live forever!
22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”
23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
24 At the king’s command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions’ den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.
25 Then King Darius wrote to all the nations and peoples of every language in all the earth:
“May you prosper greatly!
26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.
“For he is the living God
    and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
    his dominion will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves;
    he performs signs and wonders
in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions.”
28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus[b] the Persian.

293 girls and women rescued from Boko Haram.

The Director, Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, has confirmed that the troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 200 girls and 93 women during a raid on Sambisa Forest in Borno State.

However, Olukolade could not however confirm whether the rescued girls were the Chibok girls, who were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in April last year or not.
The Defence spokesman told said that the tweets on the twitter handle of the Nigeria military supplied the true information about the military operation in Sambisa.
The Defence authorities had stated in three tweets that the soldiers rescued the girls and the women during an invasion of the Boko Haram stronghold.
It was further stated that the freed girls and women were being screened and profiled.
The Defence authorities stated specifically that the military had not been able to confirm whether the girls were part of the Chibok girls, who were abducted by Boko Haram on April 14, 2014.
It was further stated that the troops also destroyed three terrorists camps including Tokumbere, which is said to be highly notorious (for crimes).

Kingdom Song Of The Day: "Here I Am To Worship ".

Song Title: Here I Am To Worship

Artist: Chris Tomblin

Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Open my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days, oh, so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
No, I'll never know how much it cost

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful, wonderful, wonderful
Yes, You are God

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross.

Hillary Clinton Wants Christians to Give Up on Bible Beliefs.

Hillary Clinton's religious stance on abortion has changed over the years to match her politics.

Hillary Clinton's religious stance on abortion has changed over the years to match her politics. (Reuters)
Hillary Clinton claims to be Christian. Barack Obama claims to be a Christian. And I am claiming to a brain surgeon! Any takers?
You see just saying, "I am brain surgeon," doesn't mean I can perform brain surgery. I would need to back it up with a diploma and years of training. In the same way, no American will get elected president claiming, "The Bible is outdated, it's just a bunch of stories. I am humanistic socialist at heart!" Sure the left will have no problem with that, but you can't win without independents. So the candidates claim to be Christian—despite having very unchristian positions.
However in a day where anti-biblical behavior is celebrated, where Bruce Jenner is called a hero (not for winning the decathlon, but for identifying as a woman), it is only a matter of time before politicians began to boldly speak against the Bible.
Hillary Clinton is testing the waters. It is one thing to take anti-biblical positions, but to publicly call Americans to forsake the Bible is too much. Giving an address at the Women in the World Summit last week, she made this statement:
Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth, and laws don't count for much if they're not enforced. Rights have to exist in practice—not just on paper. Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.
It used to be, you were considered compassionate, caring and humble to embrace the values of the Bible. Now you are the enemy ... according Secretary Clinton and President Obama. It is only going to get worse.

The Church And You: "Matthew The Apostle".

 Matthew the Apostle

Matthew is recorded as one of Jesus' original disciples in all four gospels and in Acts. In the gospel of Matthew he is described as a tax collector; in parallel accounts, however, the tax collector Jesus encounters is named "Levi." Christians have traditionally thought that this was an example of a double naming.
Christian tradition has generally taught that the Gospel According to Matthew was written by Matthew the apostle, but modern scholarship had discredited this. The gospel text displays enough sophistication in terms of theology and Greek that it is most likely the product of a second-generation Christian, probably a convert from Judaism.
Not much information about Matthew the apostle is contained in the gospels and his importance for early Christianity is dubious. The author of the Gospel According to Matthew, however, has had a great deal of importance for the development of Christianity. The author relied heavily on Mark's gospel and also drew from some independent traditions not found elsewhere.
Some Christian legends say that Matthew was martyred in Ethiopia, others that he was martyred in Parthia. There is no evidence for the truth of any of these traditions or even that Matthew would have been martyred at all anywhere. He Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, Killed by a sword wound .

Navy Chaplain Told to Stop Praying in Jesus' Name.

A Navy chaplain was asked by a base commander to stop praying in the name of Jesus.
Attorneys for Chaplain Wesley Modder finished their investigation of the chaplain with an 18-page letter refuting allegations against him. The letter also said Modder had previously been asked to stop praying in Jesus’ name.
“After our investigation, it is clear that the facts and law are on Chaplain Modder’s side,” Liberty Institute attorney Michael Berry said. “He has done nothing more than provide ministerial services in accordance with the precepts of his faith – which is completely consistent with Navy rules and federal law.
“We believe the Navy will exonerate Chaplain Modder and restore him to continue his true calling of ministering to sailors and Marines as he has done for the past 15 years,” Berry said.
Modder came under criticism last December when an openly gay officer at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in South Carolina reported that he had been offended by Modder’s stance on homosexuality.
The officer said Modder showed discrimination and a failure to show tolerance and respect.
According to the investigation by Liberty Institute, Modder had been asked to deliver an invocation at a ceremony, but as he walked to the lectern, Capt. John Fahs told him to cut out the “Jesus” references.

Why We Still Struggle ( Kirk Frankilin).

A few nights ago, I attended a live recording for a new artist signed to my label. He’s an incredible talent and we are so proud to have him be a part of our music family. I also had the pleasure of writing two songs for his project which were recorded that night as well. It’s been years since I’ve done a record live. It takes a lot of work beforehand to make sure that night goes off seamlessly. If not, you find yourself having to re-record everything in the studio, so the night was a waste of time and money. Needless to say the night was epic!
That’s the other beautiful part about live recordings: you get to capture the spirit of the moment right there live on tape… should I say that whatever happened that night lives forever. As the night proceeded with each song being performed by this talented new artist of ours, the moment came for my song [or the song God let me borrow] to be sung next. The sweaty palm feeling was on 100. My nerves were on alert level high because of the pressure to deliver what others feel I need to, based on whatever stupid thing they call a career as a songwriter.
As the song starts, my fears start as well. The drug I haven’t tasted in a very long time rears its head and this beautiful night that belongs to this young gift on stage is robbed by this old friend that I hate with every fiber of my being: the flesh. As the people’s praise for the song started to be expressed that night while the artist singing the song delivered it with great passion and intent, my ears quickly became glued to the sound of the crowd. And the voices I’ve boxed in the ring of life quickly wanted rematches. The praise of the people can be a drug you never want to try. You may have voices that speak to you as well, of pride, praise, lust, temptation, whatever your drug. If you’re not careful, you’ll forget who’s doing the talking!
One of the greatest lessons my father in the faith, Dr. Tony Evans taught me as a young man in my twenties is this: don’t beat yourself up when the “voices” come, what matters is what you do with them when they DO come. In other words, don’t beat yourself up when the flesh starts to do what it does best: be the flesh.
See, when you got saved, you now have within you the life of Christ that now takes the place of the old sinful life. But what didn’t change was the house that the old life lived in. whatever habits, thought patterns, addictions, may still try to rear their head, especially if they had deep roots. Some sins and sinful patterns you had before conversion were just weeds. That’s why after you trusted Christ it was easy for you to let them go. For me it was smoking.
But sexual sins I became introduced to as a child became roots deep like an oak tree. This is good news to someone who thinks their conversion didn’t really stick. You question why you still struggle with things now that you are born again and were never taught that sanctification is a lifetime process. The mind has to be renewed because it became comfortable thinking bad thoughts.
If a car company closes its factory, they will no longer make cars in that area. But what they can’t do is go around and gather up all of the cars it already built. Those will still be seen on the street from time to time. Those thoughts and character traits are just old cars that were built before the factory to your soul closed down when Christ took over! I’m feeling a little Pentecostal right now!
So when you see one on the street driving by, don’t beat yourself up, just say “thank God that car is no longer mine!” and keep driving!

The Church And You: " Evan Roberts".

More than anything else, Evan Roberts was a man of prayer. Yes, the whole world felt the impact of revival that swept Wales from November 1904 through 1905, but certainly the extent of his public influence was a direct result of his personal commitment to prayer. More than a 100,000 Welsh came to Christ during an unprecedented nine months of intense revival that closed bars and cancelled sporting events. It triggered revival around the world, including the famous Azusa Street revival of 1906 which forever changed the landscape of Twentieth Century Christianity. As with all great heroes of the faith, a deep hunger for the Word of God and an unquenchable thirst for more of the Spirit of God began at an early age.
Of his early years, he later wrote “I said to myself: I will have the Spirit . . . for ten or eleven years I have prayed for revival. I could sit up all night to read or talk about revivals. It was the Spirit who moved me to think about revival.” Because of his unique desire for the Lord, Evan gave himself to fervent prayer and intercession. So much so, that by the time he was twenty-one years old, he was known by some as a “mystical lunatic.” It was during this period that Evan would get so caught up in the Lord that he reported his bed shaking. He would awaken every night at 1:00 a.m. to be “taken up into divine fellowship” and would proceed to pray until 5:00 a.m. when he would fall back to sleep for four hours before waking again at 9:00 a.m. continuing in prayer until noon

By December 1903, Evan knew in his heart that God had planned a great revival for the Welsh community. Although he had been accepted to Bible college, he could not continue his studies because of his desire to preach and pray. Throughout that year Evan wrestled over what was expected of him and what he felt the Lord calling him to do. He battled with depression, which would prove a life-long struggle for him, eventually rendering him ineffective as a minister. But in September of 1904, Roberts discovered a breakthrough as he sat listening to the evangelist Seth Joshua plead with the Spirit to “Bend us! Bend us!” Later that night, Roberts cried out to the Lord, “Bend me! Bend me!” and fully surrendered to the will of God, allowing His compassion to fill him.
It was the very next month that Roberts had his first vision. While strolling in a garden, Evan looked up to see what seemed to be an arm outstretched from the moon, reaching down into Wales. He later told a friend, “I have wonderful news for you. I had a vision of all Wales being lifted up to heaven. We are going to see the mightiest revival that Wales has ever known – and the Holy Spirit is coming just now. We must get ready.”
He obtained approval to begin a small series of meetings that began on October 31 at a small church. This quickly grew into a major revival that lasted two weeks. Soon, entire communities were transformed as the meetings increased in fervor, strong moves of intercession flooding the services, often lasting well into the night. Evan led the congregations and teams of intercessors in prayer sometimes until morning when crowds would already be gathered outside ready to begin another day of services. Nine months later, Wales was in the midst of a sweeping revival that ushered in a worldwide hunger for God that would change the course of modern Christianity.

One eye-witness of the revival said that what drew people to Evan “perhaps more than any other thing, was the unfeigned humility in all his actions.” His services were marked with laughing, crying, dancing, joy, and brokenness. Soon, the newspapers began covering them, and the revival became a national story. Political meetings were cancelled, theaters were closed down, and bars and casinos lost their customers. Most wonderfully, Christians from all denominations worshipped together as doctrinal differences fell by the wayside. Some of the reporters themselves were converted at the meetings.
The revival spread with such fervor throughout the nation, that former prostitutes started holding Bible studies, while delinquent, bar-going husbands became a great joy and support to their families. Debtors paid their debts. Denominational barriers were broken, and eventually, national and racial barriers began to crumble. Women were welcome to participate in a public role for the first time in the history of Wales. They opened the meetings by leading in song and stirring testimonies; and continued to prayer, sing, and minister without restraint.

The foundation upon which the revival was built had a great deal to do with the softening of hearts. Evan Roberts based his principles of revival on four points; 1) Confess all known sin; 2) Search out all secret and doubtful things; 3) Confess the Lord Jesus openly; 4) Pledge that you will fully obey the Spirit.
Repentance was a central theme in light of surrendering all to the Holy Spirit and putting the love of the Lord Jesus above everything. Revival begins in a heart completely sold out to seeing the Kingdom of God revealed on earth. A heart that seeks first God’s Kingdom, and His Righteousness. A heart consumed by God’s love, and committed to perpetuating righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit; a heart hungry for holiness.
Evan’s hunger for more of the Spirit was palpable and contagious. His sensitivity to the move of God and his ability to discern spiritual things left the crowds silent with anticipation. After waiting quietly upon the Spirit, he would suddenly call out a malady that someone in the audience was suffering and they would be instantly healed, or a habit that held a listener in bondage that they would instantly be freed from. He might suddenly leave the building in search of a passerby to reveal a sin that held that person captive from which they would be compelled to cry out and repent.
Soon, word of the Welsh revival spread to other nations. The people of South Africa, Russia, India, Ireland, Norway, Canada, and Holland rushed to Wales. Many came to carry a portion of this revival back to their own nations. Such was the case with California evangelist and journalist, Frank Bartleman, who wrote to Roberts about how to bring revival to America. Evan corresponded several times with Bartleman, each time listing the principles for revival while encouraging him to pursue it, and assuring him of prayers from Wales. Barlteman would later record the events of the Azusa Street Revival that originated in Southern California in 1906. There is no doubt that the revival in Wales started a worldwide hunger for God.

By 1905, Roberts’ mind became confused from physical and emotional exhaustion. He began hearing conflicting voices in his head and doubted his ability to distinguish the voice of the Spirit among them. He would rebuke his listeners for not being pure of heart, while he became increasingly obsessed with examining his own self for un-confessed sin. He feared most that he would be exalted instead of God and became overly critical of his audiences and church leaders.

He entered into a period when he would withdraw for days at a time. When he would finally emerge, he might suddenly leave a meeting in frustration, or decide at the last minute not to show up at all. His final downfall came when he was invited to participate in an Easter convention for ministers and church leaders in the summer of 1906. It was there that he spoke on what he called his “new burden”—the identification with Christ through suffering. Soon afterwards, he became tremendously overstrained, and had a complete breakdown.
It was at this conference that he was introduced to Mrs. Jessie Penn-Lewis. She also preached on “suffering with Christ” and although she was a wealthy, influential woman, her ministry was rejected in Wales because of serious doctrinal conflicts. When Mrs. Penn-Lewis heard Evan’s message on the cross, she aligned herself with him in hope of being accepted among the Welsh leadership. She convinced Evan of her allegiance, and sympathized with the abuses he was suffering because of what she told him was his excellent teaching. In his weakened condition, Evan succumbed to her influence, and after suffering a severe nervous breakdown, allowed Mr. and Mrs. Penn-Lewis to transport him by train to their estate in England. They built their new home around his needs, including a bedroom, prayer room, and private stairway. It was there that the great revivalist was confined to bed for more than a year.
Evan became ever more isolated and reclusive as years passed. He refused to see friends, and eventually family. He allowed Penn-Lewis to dictate who he would see, and what he would do. They wrote a number of books together, the first one, War on the Saints, was published in 1913. Mrs. Penn-Lewis stated the book was birthed from six years of prayer and testing the truth. Within a year after the book was published, Roberts denounced it. He was quoted as saying it had been a “failed weapon which had confused and divided the Lord’s people.”

Though his opinion eventually changed, during the years of writing War on the Saints, Evan seemed mesmerized by Penn-Lewis, saying, “I know of none equal to her in understanding of spiritual things, she is a veteran in heavenly things.” During his years of recovery with Penn-Lewis, they formed a team that not only published numerous booklets on spiritual warfare, but also a magazine called "The Overcomer" that was widely distributed throughout the world.

In 1913, Penn-Lewis decided to discontinue the magazine and started holding “Christian Workers’ Conferences” where she would preach and Roberts would be confined to holding counseling sessions. When the conferences became less popular over the years, Evan found his outlet through the School of Prayer started during the Swansea Convention of 1908. He taught how to intercede for families, ministers and churches, and wrote essays on various aspects and degrees of prayer. Several ministers of that day commented that everything they knew about prayer came from Evan’s teaching.
Eventually, Evan Roberts stopped teaching and writing, and pulled away to focus exclusively on his own prayer life. He would pray mostly in private, interceding for Christian leaders and believers around the world. Evan remained inside the walls of the Penn-Lewis home for eight years.

Sometime between 1919 and 1921 he moved to Brighton in Sussex. He purchased a typewriter and began to write several booklets that were never successful. In 1926 his father became ill and he returned to Wales for a visit. When Mrs. Penn-Lewis died of lung disease in 1927, Evan relocated to his home country permanently.
When his father passed away in 1928, he did something unusual at the funeral. He suddenly interrupted the somber eulogy declaring, “This is not a death but a resurrection, Let us bear witness to this truth.” Of that day, one person remarked, “Something like electricity went through us. One felt that if he had gone on there would have been another revival then and there.”
Soon afterward, there was indeed a short revival when Evan was asked to take part in a special service locally. News traveled quickly and soon visitors came from all over to again hear Evan Roberts speak. For a time, he ministered with a renewed grace and power. Evan prayed for healings and deliverances and operated in the gift of prophecy. Healings, conversions, and answered prayers were the talk of the day with people clogging the streets to get a glimpse or take part. It was only a short year later when Roberts totally disappeared from private life.
By 1931, Roberts was nearly a forgotten man. He stayed in a room provided by Mrs. Oswald Williams and spent the last years of his life writing poetry and letters. He kept a daily journal and enjoyed watching sports and theater. In May of 1929, Evan had to stay in bed all day for the fist time. He became increasingly weak. And then, at the age of seventy-two, on a wintry day in January 1951, Evan Roberts passed away. He was buried in the family plot on January 29, 1951. It was not until many years later that a memorial column was raised there commemorating this former coal miner’s efforts to stir international revival from his small town in Wales.

The Church And You: "Saint James (the Great) the Apostle".

James, the son of Zebedee, was called along with this brother John to be one of Jesus' twelve apostles who would accompany him on his ministry. James appears in the lists of apostles in the synoptic gospels as well as Acts. James and his brother John were given the nickname "Boanerges" (sons of thunder) by Jesus; some believe this was a reference to their tempers.
James, along with his brother John, is portrayed in the gospels as perhaps being more important than most of the other apostles. He was present at the resurrection of Jarius' daughter, at Jesus' transfiguration, and at the Garden of Gethsemane before Jesus was arrested.
Other than a few references to him in the New Testament, however, we have no information about who James was or what he did. One Christian legend says that King Herod had him executed by a sword, but there is no evidence of his occurring. Other Christian legends say that James travelled to and evangelized in Hispania.
James was one of the apostles who sought power and authority above the others, something that Jesus reproached him for: And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire. And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory. (Mark10: 35-40)
This James does not appear to be called "the Great" because he learned well this lesson from Jesus. Instead, he's called "the Great" to distinguish him from the other James (the Lesser, the Just) and because he was one of the first disciples called by Jesus to follow him.
He was the leader of the church in Jerusalem , was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his enemies beat James to death with a fuller's club.
* This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation

Having Fun ( A Beautiful Way To Live).

Several times I look into my life and I asked myself if I am a boring person? Most Fridays, I hear my colleagues say they will be going to the movies, clubbing, partying to have fun and to unwind in various places in the cause of a break or vacation. A times, they ask me if I had plans for the weekend and I say no or I tell them that I intend putting my thoughts together and developing them into write ups, spending some time at home with my wife, attending church programs and also visiting family members.
My Boss in the office believes in hard work, team work and also having fun. He has made us realize that life is not about work, work and work. He believes that we can have fun and still be at the top of our game. As a result of this and my thoughts about having fun and being a boring person, I came across Ecc 4:8 ( NIV) which says:
There was a man all alone;
he had neither son nor brother.
There was no end to his toil,
yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.
“For whom am I toiling,” he asked,
“and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?”
This too is meaningless—
a miserable business!

After reading the above verses, I realized that some of us are short changing ourselves by working from morning till late in the night.  We don’t have time for and create time for ourselves. We have become so stingy to ourselves that we can’t go out with families, friends and even visit with people. Our lives have become predictable, boring and annoying.
Also, many of us work from morning till night without resting. We end up having a boring life and falling ill. Others as a result of the kind of work they do, they work from Monday till Sunday week upon week. They don’t have time for themselves and family. Their lives can easily be predicted because of their daily routine. We have become like robots that have been programmed to work without resting.
What is Fun?  Whatever amuses you, your family and friends could be seen as fun. It could be anything that can make someone laugh or smile, entertain (someone) in a light and pleasant way and anything that gets the attention of (someone) in a pleasant way as time passes and brings you and your loved ones together. It makes you happy and relieves you of stress, pressure and so on. Many of us have defined fun in various ways and by the things we do. Some people go partying, dancing, singing, clubbing and so on when they want to have fun. Some go to the movies, football viewing centers to view football matches just to have fun. While others drink, sleep, rest, dance, play games and do other things to have fun. Reading the bible, praying, worshiping God, attending church meetings, preaching to people are also great ways of having fun.

But one thing about having fun is that it is relative. What one calls fun could be different from what someone else calls fun. Some may prefer clubbing, climbing mountains, fishing as their way of having fun. So, having fun could be what each person defines it to be. We should not use ourselves as the standard for everything. What you call fun could be seen as foolishness by someone else.
Having fun can build your relationship with your friends, partner, spouse, family and so on. It relieves you of anxiety, pressure, stress and so on. It also helps your health system and helps you to think. However, there is a limit to what we can call fun. If having fun puts you and others at risk or danger, then that is not fun but destruction. Whatever you do, make sure it is moderate, descent, bonding, and so on. Don’t get drunk and end up in a gutter and say you are having fun. Also, don’t have fun and destroy yourself. Anything you call fun which makes you degrade, embarrass, destroy and endanger yourself and others, you should desist from.

Try as much as possible to enjoy what you are doing. Create fun out of what you do and have fun in it. It helps you to do the job with happiness despite the environment in which you find yourself. Our lives should not be like what the scriptures says below:
Psalm 127:2 says, “In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves”.
You can be a good Christian, husband, wife, parent, business man, professional and young person, student and still be a fun loving person. God is not against you and I having fun. Having fun should not be anything that defiles you, brings shame and make you sin against God. Our God created us to be fun loving people and not angry and boring set of people. Wilson Ileogben
