We all are living out a script written by God. He is the author of our lives. He knows every thing even the end from the beginning. We may not take this seriously but God is the one in charge of our lives.
I saw a movie on the 31th of March 2015 that was full of suspense and intrigue. It got me glued to my TV set. It was a Nolly wood movie. For many years, one could predict the end from the beginning of any movie produced in Nolly wood until I saw that movie yesterday. The settings, characters, production were out of this world. The intrigues and plots were second to none.
The movie is far better off than 30 Days In Atlanta, Black November, The Meeting, October 1 and so on. All the casts played their role perfectly well. I personally nominate the movie as the best movie in 2015 in Nolly wood.
The producer should be given credit for the movie. He is an excellent producer. The story line is out of this world. There were two main characters, many supporting actors and actresses. Many people were involved in the movie both locally and internationally.
Oops, I didn't mention the title of the Movie. It was titled "Change, the Desire Of The People". The movie was all about politics in Nigeria. The scheming, threats, promises, political parties, politicians, sycophants, Nigerians, Africa and the world. The two main Characters were Buhari and President Jonathan.
People got scared and decided to leave the country. Many people had to travel to their own towns and villages because what they had anticipated. Many people anticipated that their would be war at the end of the day between Buhari and Jonathan and also between the northerners and the southerners. A foreign country had to send their marines to a neighbouring country in anticipation of war. Businesses, offices, companies, banks had to close on time in anticipation of the worst. So many people had to stock up their homes with food as a results of the elections.
The social media did not really help matters. Although it was use for campaigning, some people used it to heat up the polity. There was panic, fear and apprehension in the air. Many people were paid to use the social media to tarnish the image of parties, people, and to send fake results. All these things increased the fear in the country. People for the first time got glued to their TV and radio sets. Fathers, mothers, children, house helps, and so on were eager to know the results of the election. It was more than champions league final and world cup final because every body wanted to know the outcome of it. Every body does not watch football but this movie was seen by millions world wide. It was full of suspense.
A few people lost their lives before the elections and some got injured in the course of the election. In the course of the elections, there were issues with the card readers, materials, staffs, logistics. All of these things and issues created more fear. After the elections, many people protested that there were irregularities and the elections in some states should he cancelled. Then the time came for the results to be announced. Every body was anticipating who would win the elections and the aftermath of the results. An agent disrupted the flow of the announcement because he was not happy with some of results called and this caused more fear. But the response of the INEC chairman, Jega calmed our nerves. If he had responded differently, it would have been some thing else.
The incumbent President did the unthinkable. He called his opponent to congratulate him when he realised that he had lost. People were surprised and that singular act, calmed down the nerves of every one. Instead of battle and war that had been anticipated by all, it was rejoicing that took place. Many people were celebrating the victory of Buhari over Jonathan, while others were celebrating the unlikely hero of the day. There were many heroes in the movie but the unlikely hero at the end of the day was President Jonathan. His action brought peace and the people who were preparing for war were calmed down by his actions. Also, foreign countries who thought we would have war in Nigeria were shamed by Jonathan's gesture.
Nigeria has a knew President now in the person of Buhari but peace came by God through Jonathan. All the casts played their roles perfectly. Lest I forget, the name of the Producer and Executive Producer is God Almighty. Also, Nolly wood is the name of the film industry in Nigeria and all the casts were Nigerians, Africans, and the world. The peace came because people prayed to god about it and he did not fail. Our god is a god of peace. The movie reminds me of what the bible says in jeremiah 29:7. It says:
Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper".
