JUST THINKING:
We were taught that there are different kinds of colours when we were much younger. We were told about the primary, secondary and tertiary colours. It was explained that primary colours are a group of colours from which all other colours can be obtained by mixing like Red, yellow, and blue. While secondary colours are green, orange and purple and are produced by mixing two addictive primary colours. Also, when you blend primary and secondary colours, you will get tertiary colours.
Everyone has their own favourite colour(s). Mine is blue but that is not my true colour(s). My true colours are my character, my personality, who I am, my true identity and my attitude. It shows the kind of person I really am rather than what I seem to be.
True colours reveal one as one really is, what one really believes, thinks, or wants. It is to act in accordance with one's real personality, temperament, or disposition.
For example we have heard people say, " I thought he was a really sweet guy, but then he got mad and showed his true colours"
The above example shows that the person who made the statement knew the representation of the other person until he became mad. This shows that your true colours reveal who you really are in life and in secret. It also shows the state of your heart, the tendency and potentials of your heart. The tendencies of one's heart are those things one can do but you don't know you can do them until some things happen.
In the cause of my sister's wedding years ago, I did something I never knew I could do even as a Christian. Someone cleared me off the ground because some boys came to disrupt the event and I quickly picked up a plank to hit the guy. The next thing I heard was "Pastor". That word made me realize what I wanted to do and I became ashamed of myself. I saw an aspect of me I never knew I had until that day.
Actually, the true person really shows up when things happen or when we are alone. Having made this clear, I would like to ask a question. Who are you when no one is watching? You need to ask yourself that question from time to time.
Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
The above scripture means Christ has become my live and he is living my life instead of me. The normal me would love to do what everyone does but Christ is now my life, he is in control of it and living my life. If Christ is allowed to live your life, you will always live the same life in public and in private.
In conclusion, colours are really beautiful but are your true colours beautiful? Do you have secret faults and habits that you need to work on? If not, they will come out one day, reveal and expose who you really are like it did at my sister's wedding.
