FROM STORY TO GLORY

JUST THINKING

A story is an account of imaginary, real people or events told for entertainment or the past events in someone's life or in the development of something. The event could be real, true or fictional that could help the listener to learn something. Stories are being told delay and one day your life will be told as a story.
We all like to hear that phrase, “From Story to Glory," but most of us do not know the process to glory. We want the glory but we hate the process. The process people go through is what makes the success or "glory" meaningful at the end of the day.
The story of Joseph spoken about in Genesis 37, 39-50 is a good example of story, process and glory. He experienced due process to success.  If he had rejected or refused the process, he might not have become a success story or he would have truncated his opportunity to be trained for the place God was taking him to.
Joseph was taken from his comfort zone (his father’s house) to an unfamiliar zone (Egypt) but it did not deter him from doing the right things everywhere he found himself. He also willingly served Portiphar his master despite knowing that God had blessed his Master's household because of him. He was successful as a slave but he didn't allow it get into his head. Some people would have become too proud and rude to their master but not Joseph. This shows that true success does not make you proud instead it makes you serve the more.
Also, Joseph didn't compare and equate himself with his master and others around him despite knowing that God was with him. He didn't betray his master's trust despite the privileges he enjoyed and his elevated position. He didn't try to unseat, outsmart and overthrow his boss. Many of us will capitalize on it to do that. Joseph understood due process, so he never did that.
Furthermore, he never stole from his master nor took things that did not belong to him when he was in charge of his Master's house. He also did the same thing when he was made the head over Egypt. Some of us would have accumulated wealth for ourselves but not Joseph. He believed in integrity more than success. Do you have integrity?
Joseph was a serving and working leader and not a seating leader. He was diligent as a servant and also as a leader. He cared about his fellow servants when he saw that they were downcast. This shows that no matter what we are going through, we should not stop or cease to love, help and care for others.
He forgave his siblings who sold him to slavery and as well as Portiphar who had believed in his wife without listening to him and put him in prison. If not, Joseph would have dealt with Portiphar and his wife when he became the Head of Egypt. Do not pay evil with evil no matter what.
He also feared God because he refused the advances of his Master's wife. Genesis 39: 9 says, “there is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
Wow, Joseph paid attention to details. He brought bad report of his siblings to his father about the things they did when they were feeding the flock. If he had not paid attention to his environment, he would not be able to see the bad things they did. Also, this ability made him know that something was wrong with those servants whose dreams he interpreted individually. If you pay attention to details, people and your environment, you will see what others do not see and nothing will slip through your fingers. One of the ways to success is knowing your environment and paying attention to it. There are many clues to success in our environment only if our eyes are open to it.Genesis 37: 2 says,''....... and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father’’.
For you to move from story to glory, you need to go through process. It is very easy to tell the story of others without knowing the painful process they had. Also, we wish we could be like others or have what they have but we do not want to go through the process that got them the success. Due process pays and it is what makes the glory of a story more interesting.
