THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL NONSENSE

JUST THINKING:

Years ago, a neighbour paid us a visit and I took the manuscript of a book I was working on to her. She just flipped through it and the next thing she said was like a bullet in my chest. She said,"The book is not mature enough". Wow, I was so shocked by the statement that I had to drop the manuscript. Till today, I can't say this is where I dropped the manuscript because I can't find it. Her statement that day discouraged me from continuing and I gave up writing that book because a person who didn't read the manuscript said it was not mature enough.
What I had spent time, energy and resources to work on got thrown away because someone made a reckless statement.  I allowed her words to discourage and make me stop something that could have impacted the world. In other words, she said, "What a beautiful nonsense".
The phrase, "A beautiful nonsense" is an oxymoron. The phrase means that a good idea, vision, talent, skill that does not make sense. The word nonsense means a word that makes no sense or has no meaning. It also means something that lacks any coherent meaning. So, when someone says to you that your vision is "A Beautiful Nonsense", he is saying it makes no sense.
As a result of this, many people have given up on their visions. The vision, idea and passion that could have changed mankind has been abandoned because of discouragement from a person who does not understand what drives and pushes you.
Genesis 6: 13 - 15 says, "And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.  And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits".
God told Noah to build an ark for himself because he wanted to destroy the earth as a result of corruption and violence on the face of the earth. Noah worked on the ark for a hundred (100) years. He kept at it despite the years it took him to build it. I believe people criticized him, made jest of and mocked him. But he didn't give up on it. Instead, he kept at it. He was moved with fear to do it because he believed that God would do what he had said.
The number of years he spent on it didn't discourage him. People laughed at the ark, his efforts, his family and his courage to get it done. They called it "A beautiful Nonsense" but he was not discouraged. As people would say, ''the rest is now history''.
Do you feel like throwing in the towel because people do not believe in you? Think about the way Noah could have felt when people said he was just wasting his time. Do not give up on your dreams and visions because someone condemned, mocked and made jest of it it. The world is waiting for you unconsciously but if you stop, you will deprive the world of your greatness and ingenuity.
