IDENTIFYING MY WEAKNESSES

JUST THINKING:

In wrestling, if you have an injury or a weak point, your opponent will go after that part of your body in order to defeat you. Likewise in football or soccer. When a team discovers that the other team is weak in a particular position, they will concentrate on and attack the other team from that position of their weakness. This is what happens in the time of war. Your opponent, the enemy and adversary will look for your weaknesses and attack you or penetrate through that place or crack to defeat you.
King David was able to besiege and take over the Jebusites' city which was later named the city of David through a water conduit or a tunnel. It was a surprise assault on the people of Jebus. They believed strongly and prided in the wall they had built which was their strength but they forgot that they had a weakness. The tunnel was their weakness and David's men led by General Joab discovered it, entered into the city, defeated them and also captured the city.
Everyone of us has weaknesses or a soft spot. We all know that thing, that person, that situation, that food and so on that makes us sin easily, that brings out our weaknesses, that brings out the worst and the dirty side of us. As for King David and Solomon, women were the weakness. Pride brought King Asa down because he refused to listen to the rebuke from the Lord. Instead he jailed Prophet Hanani who delivered the message of God to him. Even when he became diseased in his leg, he refused to seek God's help for healing whom he had trusted before pride took over him.
2 Chronicles 26:16 NIV says, "But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the Lord his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense".
Pride led to the downfall of Uzziah and it confirms what the bible says that pride goes before a fall. This was the experience of Lucifer (Satan) and many other people. For some, it is food, clothes, money and so on that is their weakness. Yours might be obvious to all and mine might be hidden. But the truth is that everyone has at least a weakness which they are working on, managing within their capacity and with the help of others.
We are to harness our strength and work on our weaknesses daily. Your weakness(es) can become a blessing to you if you can identify it, work on it and strengthen yourself in that area. If you do not identify, work on and manage your weaknesses, what David's men did to the city and the people of Jebus will happen to you.
People will get behind your skin easily to frustrate you. Other times, you will fall easily to sin, habits and you will keep making that same shameful mistake over and over if you do not work on yourself. However, some people do not know their weaknesses because they are either ignorant of it or they ignore it when it shows up. The place through which you sin easily and always could be a pointer to your weakness. Also, that person or thing that gets you angry or pissed off easily, could also be a pointer. But if you work on it, one day you will say to someone, ''what was once my weakness has become my strength''.
