Many people are familiar with this statement: "You will never amount to any thing in life". Parents, teachers, uncles, Guardians, friends, Bosses (Ogas), family members have made that statement to people in different ways and times. They felt those people were too foolish, dull, useless to become any thing good in life. Some said it as a result of Jealousy, hatred, bitterness while others said it as a curse. Many took this to heart and have never forgiven those people who made that statement to them and wrote them off.
You don't need to harbour grudges against that person because man does not decide your destiny but God and you. John1:46 says (Nazareth! Can anything good come from there? Nathanael asked."Come and see," said Philip). Our lord experienced it even from a would be disciple, Natanael. This did not affect his destiny. The world has not recovered from the work Jesus did over 2000 years ago and will never recover from it. Nazareth could represent a slump, a poor background, illiteracy, poverty, terrible personality. Many people had this same experience and today they are blessed. Some of them used it as a spring board to become somebody in life while others cried out to God like Jabez did and today they far exceed the expectations of those people who made those statements to them deliberately and unconsciously.
We can emulate Jesus our lord and those people who changed that situation. Jer 29:11 says: (For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future). It is what God says that will stand and not what man has pronounced over your life.
