Comedy has become a very big and lucrative industry. Both men and women are in the industry are doing well for themselves. Many of them use people like Taribo West, Taiye Taiwo, omobaba, Bounce(Bukina faso Footballer) as their own guinea pig for ugly people. This is not restricted to comedians alone because we all call those who are of average height and not presentable as short, ugly (The worwor) and other names.
But is any body really ugly? I know some people are more handsome and beautiful. This does not mean that they are better off than you because the Bible says we all are made in the image and likeness of God. So in my own opinion no body is ugly. Also, there was a time that people were called "lekpa" because they were thin". To be thin was a problem and any where you went, people would shout "lekpa" and if you were fat, you would be called "Tick" madam or "Oga". We thought being fat was synonymous with being rich. However, we know better now.
Thin people were mocked at and ridiculed because of their shape. But the irony of it is that in the western world slim(thin) people are more appreciated than fat people. They see fat people as unfit and mock at them. If one is called "fat", it is like a curse to them in western world. This has affected people because being called slim, fat or ugly has made many people lose their confidence. They look down on themselves and it has brought inferiority complex to them. Some have become addicted to drugs, committed suicide and become introverts because of it.
This is not supposed to be because if we all knew what we are, no body will tell us what we are not and no amount of names people call us will affect us. Psalm 139:14 says, (14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well).
This shows that God took time to make you. You are a wonder and you are more than what people say you are. So whatever people say or think about you does not really matter but what God says about you and what he has made you become. Someone once said that if some body says to you that you are too thin, tell him that if you are fatter than me, then you are too fat and vice versa. You are unique the way you are and please don't try to be like someone else. (This does not mean you should not take care of your health).
