SELFIE

Selfie is a word being used today world wide and it shows and defines the trend and nature of this generation. A generation who loves and shows the outward appearance more than their real selves. A selfie is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, facebook and Tumblr. They are often casual, and are typically taken either with a camera held at arm's length or in a mirror.

My concern is how many people will sincerely post a selfie of themselves when they are broke, when they are not having a job, suffering, in lack, sick, diseased ,etc, on instagram, facebook, etc?  Please don't get me wrong. I take selfie of myself

at home, office , church, etc with my phone but this does not really show and tell me who I really am. It only shows me how miserable I am without God. Every one should take a selfie of themselves with the word of God.

The word of God is the only mirror and camera which shows us (our true selfie)who and what we are, what we will be like and where we are going. Psalm 119:97-100(read psalm 119) says, (97 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. 98 Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. 99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.100 I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts).

One word from God can change your life, situations, your looks, etc. No wonder Pharoah king of Egypt and Abimelek king of Gerar wooed SARAH when she was 65 and 90 years old respectively (Gen 12:10-20, 20:1-2)because the word of God had transformed her. This same word can make you beautiful and transform you even younger than your age when you fellowship with it daily. WILSON ILEOGBEN.
