GO BACK AND TRY AGAIN

 JUST THINKING

Every new week is a good time for us to make sure we get to or move closer to our goal, relax and reflect on the things we have done so far. Last week I grew,  failed, learnt, unlearnt and also experienced the mercies of God.
In the area of failing,  I learnt a lot. I can easily say concerning failings that, "Your worst enemy is your memory. Your worst trait is going back over the failures and taunting yourself. You cry nearly every night after you go to bed because you have failed." Failure is a memory thing to be forgotten. Wherever you failed in your assignment or career for example,  learn from it and learners learn from so many things and failing is one of them.
As a student,  any time I failed a  practice question, it hurt me. "I just learnt that that is the element in me that wants to be better and not give up".  But, I did not run away from the practice question. Instead, I went back to it.  If I failed again,  I felt the same way and till went back to it until I got the answer to the question. That is how we achieve in failing, set backs and disappointments. You don't give up when you fail, instead go back and try again.  In the course of it,  you learn,  unlearn and maybe achieve.
Everyone has failed in life in so many ways but the difference between people that failed and succeeded is that failure is not final which the eventual successful ones have discovered. They go back to it and try again. Good people and bad people fail but the one who does not give up despite the failings will become better and even succeed.  But I must admit that going back to that place,  area, career,  job,  business and so on where you once failed does not guarantee success automatically. It makes you a better person and it shows how strong and courageous you are in the face of difficulties and failures.
In the learning curve of life, failure is one of the best ways of learning. Every true War General has scars they have had in life and in various wars they have fought in which  made them better, more strategic and stronger. They are signs that they have been to wars of various kinds. The scars came as a results of bitter experiences, defects, betrayal, failures and so on. But these experiences never took away what they are. Your mistakes, failures and bitter experiences do not take away who and what you are. In actual sense, they make you better and make you discover what and who you really are. You are a strong, tough and resilient being made in the image and likeness of God. So, do not stop because you failed but stop when you have crossed the finish line despite the desire to give up in the face of difficulties, disappointments, failures, bitter experiences and even rejections.
