The Social Media.

Social network has changed our generations in many ways. Facebook, whatsup, BBM, 2go, linkedin etc are some social networks that people use. Some people have got good jobs, their spouses, positive information, etc via it. Relationships have been enhanced and education has become much easier through social media. Some secondary / high schools now use IPad, tablets, Phablets for their academic works through educational applications.
My niece told me that in her secondary / high school, the seniors are allowed to use sim card on their pads while the junior students are not allowed. Parents buy it for their kids for academic reasons, for show off and to keep their children busy. But the danger is that many parents are not monitoring what games, applications, sites and things the children do with their gadgets. It can have negative effects on the children if not well monitored. Parents should monitor their kids now that they are on break and when schools resume.
I read an article recently on Steve Jobs, the former CEO of Apple and some of his counterparts in the industry. Jobs and some of these people never allowed their kids to have Ipads and even sent their kids to schools where they were retrictions on the use of these gargets that we are killing ourselves over and our kids are using to show off. This is an irony of life because one would expect his children to have all the latest products from The Apple company. But the reverse is the case. They are the ones who make these items but also place restrictions on it for their children because of the negative effects, it will have on their kids. The negative effects could be more than the positives depending on the apps being used, the time and money spent on it and as well as not restricting ourselves and monitoring the way our kids are using them. They know the effects and restrict their kids from using them. But they continue to make them and develop new ones for our kids and us. What an Irony...

Many homes, pastors, lives have been disgraced, shattered, destroyed, swindled through the social networks. The social media can be a good tool for positive change, research, gleaning information, preaching, marketing but it has been hijacked by wicked, heartless, evil and greedy people. They sell sex(pornograhpy), drugs, weapons, etc  through this media.
A lady was killed some time ago by a guy and his friend she met on one of the sites. A young boy in london walked into a moving train while "pinging". Since parents, spouses, companies, cannot fully monitor what people do on social media, many people have been destroyed. Parents and children, spouses, people don't have time for themselves again because of it. In the bus, church, office, homes,etc people are always chatting, pinging, browsing,etc.
What is supposed to be a good tool for growth and development, has become a tool for destruction. Since people have freedom of expression, they flirt, browse dirty sites, swindle people through the social media. You should guide your hearts with all diligence and remember that what a man takes in is what affects and destroys him.
