In the time of trial, people hurt themselves more by drinking, partying, smoking, stealing and doing all sorts of things. In your marriage, life, job and when you are alone, the decision you take and you are on the verge of taking, is it the decision Jesus would have taken if he was in your shoes? Some people even get involved in things that will kill their inward man the more. When you lose your job, a contract, a friend, being hurt by your spouse and so on, what do you do and who do you run to at that point in time? When you are evicted from your house or your house rent is due, when you lose a loved one, or when your prayers are not answered on time concerning having a job, the fruit of the womb, OR ANY OTHER ISSUE, what would you do? Would you do it the way Jesus would have done it?
Don't be in a hurry to take decisions. When you are angry, anxious, that is not the best time to speak and to make decisions. Some one once said to me that i should not take any decision while standing. This should be our mentality.
Men lie, kill and deny in the face of trials for peace, income and favour sakes. The way you reacted to that person who back stabbed you, is it Jesus' way? Would Jesus ever forgive that man or woman who hurt you if he was in your position? Would Jesus commit adultery, fornication, manipulate, retaliate, steal, etc, if he was in your position.
You need to love like Jesus loves. You also need to forgive, think, relate, pray, serve, preach, etc like Jesus would have. Jesus would not betray people to become rich and take advantage of others. He will never hesitate and delibrately withhold his staffs' salaries. He will never be involved in tax invasion. Also, he will never hate people and have bitterness and unforgiveness in his heart against people.
Lastly, he will never sin. So, if he was in your postion, what would he do? We need to know what he would do in our position because the bottom line is for every one of us to be like him and conform to his image. Is we always ask, "What would Jesus do if he was in our shoes?", before we do any thing, we will have better relationships and this world will be a better place. WILSON ILEOGBEN.
